In order to make your human hair wig look its best, style it before each and every use, whether it's for daily wear or only for special occasions.
Human hair wigs are considered to be more natural looking, feeling, and moving than synthetic ones. But they are more red human hair wigs and require more work to style. You should plan on styling your human hair wig before each wear regardless of whether you bought it for daily wear or just for special occasions. When properly cared for, a human hair wig can last for years.
Here's what you need to know about styling and maintaining human hair wigs.
Use a paddle brush or wide-toothed comb to detangle your human hair wig. After cleaning the wig, rub it from roots to ends in downward motion using lukewarm water and wig shampoo. In addition to cleaning the outside of the cap, make sure to clean the inside as well. Once the wig has been washed, apply the conditioner and let it sit for a few minutes. Avoid the root area. After rinsing the wig thoroughly, pat it dry with a towel. It is recommended not to wring out your wig because wringing can cause the hair to get tangled. You should part your wig's hair with a wide-toothed comb after patting it dry if your wig has a monofilament part or top feature. Your hair should then be styled with a detangler, heat-protecting spray, or oil. Because synthetic wigs retain their style after being washed, human hair wigs need to be blow-dried for the best results. When blow-drying your wig, use a wig stand or your hand to prop it up. You should blow-dry your wig until it is about 50% dry before you begin styling it.
Wearing a wig could result in you injuring yourself if you use heat styling equipment on it. Pin your wig to a foam or canvas block head with T-pins to make styling easier and safer. With this type of wig stand, you can see your style from every angle and keep your wig secure during styling.
Use a round brush to continue blow drying your wig after it has been blow dried for about half its length. Using this type of brush will allow you to control your hairstyle and smooth it out. Even more control is possible with an air concentrator attachment. You can move onto the next step as soon as the hair is completely dry.
Your wig can be straightened by using a flat iron from the root about an inch away. It is easier to manage your hair if you separate it into manageable sections with hair clips or ties. Your face will be framed by the front pieces, so pay attention to them, but don't leave the heat on too long. Apply hairspray to complete the style.
Heat styling can be done on your human hair wig every day, but make sure to use a leave-in conditioner spray and heat-protecting spray before styling to keep it hydrated. After daily wear or after 8–10 wears, wash your human hair wig at least once a week. You can easily detangle and touch up your hair on the go with a wide-toothed comb, just like with synthetic wigs.
